La ruta se inicia en el sur del casco urbano de Lezuza, en
la carretera de El Bonillo, donde podremos observar en
primer lugar cultivos de cereal y almendro (con suerte en
flor). A continuación giraremos a la derecha por el camino que discurre a los pies de los aerogeneradores del Parque eólico Portachuelo. Al finalizar este tramo haremos una parada para almorzar y continuaremos por otro camino, éste rodeado de encinas y coscojas, hasta llegar a la aldea de Matahermosa, donde nace la Cañada de Munera. Seguiremos sin desviarnos por ella prácticamente hasta el cruce con el Camino de la Casa de la Iglesia, donde girando a la izquierda llegaremos al pueblo.
Lezuza es un municipio de la comarca del Campo de Montiel, situado a 50km de la capital provincial y que tiene 1.612 habitantes. Además del núcleo urbano, cuenta con las pedanías de Tiriez, la Yunquera y Valdelaras de Arriba y Valdelaras de Abajo. Es
atravesado por el río Lezuza. Conocido por ser uno de los pueblos mas antiguos de España, al parecer esta es la tercera ubicación. En un principio estuvo rodeando al castillo por motivos de defensa y seguridad, llamándose entonces Libisosa. Actualmente este punto es el llamado Yacimiento Arqueológico del mismo nombre.
El Portachuelo es una cuerda de suaves elevaciones que rodea el pueblo de Lezuza , el vértice geodésico que marca su cota máxima tiene un altitud de 1043m y desde toda ella las vistas son excelentes.
Flora: Durante el recorrido el paisaje cambia continuamente pasando de los cultivos
de cereal, almendro y olivar a masas boscosas de encinas, coscojas, enebros y sabinas.
Fauna: La alternancia botánica permite la vida de una variada fauna con águila culebrera, búho real, mochuelo, zorros, jabalíes, lirones, turones … y por supuesto especies cinegéticas como perdices, conejos y palomas torcaces
