HOCES DEL CABRIEL/SICKLES THE CABRIEL
Mosaico geológico y vegetal prácticamente inalterado y aislado, de fuerte contraste con su entorno y que constituye un hábitat de primer orden para muchas especies amenazadas como el águila real, el águila perdicera y la nutria. Destacan las impresionantes formas labradas por el río Cabriel originando Los Cuchillos y Las Hoces. En conjunto se considera un área de elevado valor geomorfológico por su diversidad, singularidad y belleza paisajística y por la presencia de yacimientos paleontológicos y de un abrigo con pinturas rupestres.
Existe un itinerario acondicionado para la visita en el interior de la Reserva Natural que discurre paralelo al río desde el Centro de Recepción de Visitantes hasta Sierra de los Cuchillos.
El Recorrido se encuentra señalizado mediante una serie de carteles interpretativos para permitir al visitante conocer y comprender las características más relevantes de la Reserva. Itinerario de
unos 3 kilómetros de longitud (6 km. Ida y vuelta). El número de visitantes se encuentra limitado a 100 personas por día durante el periodo comprendido entre los meses de septiembre a junio, y a
60 personas por día durante los meses de julio y agosto.
Mosaic geology and
plant and isolated virtually unchanged, with a strong contrast with its
surroundings and is a prime habitat for many endangered
species like the golden eagle, Bonelli's eagleand the otter. Highlight the impressive shapes carved by the rivercausing Cabriel knives and sickles. Overall it is
considered an area of high value for its geomorphological diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape and the presence of paleontological and a shelter with
paintings.
There is an itinerary for the visit conditioning inside the NaturalReserve running parallel to
the river from the Visitor ReceptionCenter to Sierra of Knives.
The route is signposted by a series
of interpretive signage to allow visitors to learn and
understand the most relevant featuresof the Reserve. Walk of about 3 miles long (6 km. Return). The number of
visitors is limited to 100 people per day during the
period from September to June, and 60 people per day duringJuly and August.
