Pequeña laguna formada a partir de las aguas del "Canal de María Cristina". Este canal fue construido para la desecación de una serie de lagunas que rodeaban Albacete y posteriormente pasó a usarse para conducir las aguas residuales de Albacete hacia el río Júcar. En este punto del recorrido, las aguas se desbordan y dan origen a la laguna.

Como se ve en la imagen de satélite, el entorno de la laguna está formado por campos de cultivo y pequeñas manchas de encinas.

Presenta una densa masa de carrizo donde podemos observar pájaros típicos de este medio: Pájaro moscón, Escribano palustre y mosquiteros en invierno; carriceros en verano. Gallineta, Focha común, Rascón y anátidas todo el año. Buen sitio para observar Aguilucho lagunero

Small lake formed from the waters of the "Canal de MariaCristina." This canal was built for the drying of a series of lagoonssurrounding Albacete and subsequently became used to convey wastewater to the river Albacete Júcar. At this point the route, the waters burst and give rise to the lagoon.
As seen in the satellite image, the environment of the lagoonconsists of fields and small patches of oaks.
Presents a dense mass of reeds where we can observe birdstypical of this medium: Bird Moscona, Reed Bunting and mosquito nets in winter warblers in summer. Moorhen, Coot, rails and ducksthroughout the year. Good place to watch Marsh Harrier
